PC John Carr was sacked by Strathclyde Police, fined £1500 and tried for assault.
WHY? because he responded to a call from The Fire Brigade asking for a Police Escort as they were at risk from hooligans. He saw Firemen being attacked with burning sticks, and managed to apprehend two of the yobs resonsible, aged 14 and 15 years, and drag them to the Police van. The yobs were let off and now want to sue the PC for Criminal Injuries which they have a good chance of winning.
